Hello Chathuranga,

Here are a few answers to your ideas:

o Please give capability to run “Karyx” Run both windows and Ubuntu
Operation systems.

Keryx will run on any operating system that has python and wxPython
installed. Currently to run Keryx on Ubuntu, you need to install the
python-wxversion package (and dependencies) and you can run use the
graphical interface then. On Windows, you just need to run keryx.exe and you
are good to go with no installation necessary. For Linux we have an
executable version that does not need python-wxversion to be installed but
this is for a future version as it is not as important as some of the other
features we need to finish like package installation.

o And also give “Karyx” interface like “Ubuntu’s 9.10 software center”
interface. Because user can easily install packages on Offline Ubuntu O.S.

o “Karyx” interface categorize like this type > “Canonical maintain
Applicaton, All Application and Under that Catagry Install packages, Not
install packages and all packages categorize Under that Catagory all
Application Catagorize Sound and Video Application , Education Application
,Sciences Application, Accessories Application ,Internet, Office etc like
Ubuntu 9.10 Software source interface.

This is definitely something we want to add and plan for it to be included
in the 1.0 version. The project is still very you and without many
contributors, we have been slow at developing things. Once we get some time
and contributions, things should start rolling and we can finish up the rest
of the internal functionality that is still needing to be finished before we
can get started on a nice interface like this.

o “Karyx” give capability to search various worldwide Linux packages search
and download capability. Not Karyx list. Like “Winehq, Real player , VLC
media player” without “edit source’’(in Karyx >Project>Edit source). Like
normal Web boruse serch type.

This is something we may not do, but provide an easy way to enable these
repositories. Because each project can have completely different sources and
could be for different versions of Ubuntu, the actual repository entry needs
to change. This makes things complicated for automatically allowing other
repositories and security reasons but if we provided maybe a checkbox
interface to enable certain repositories quickly, would that be something
that would help?

o Also I suggest “Download Accelerate” capability for “Karyx”because some
packages size are very big all “Keryx” users not using there oun internet
connection so more time spend this download process they shoul spen more
money.

This is definitely a planned feature where we hope to have a nice download
system compared to the current one. We have already planned to start using
urlgrabber for downloading which will allow for pausing and resuming of
downloads so things should be much better then.

I also forwarded this onto the mailing list in case others had ideas they
would like to share as well. :-) Cheers!
