The Fn+f5 and Fn+f6 for decrease and increase brightness work but only from 10 to 9 decreasing and get stuck at 9. Then increasing works from 9 to 10 and gets stuck at 10. Also Fn+f7 works to toggle the backlight on and off. Please file it under the correct one. Brightness doesn't change anymore in X.Org / GNOME Shell in 14.10. It stays on maximum (10) and sometimes the less brightness down/less key makes it go to 9 or 6. Each time I press the brightness down/less key, the overlay with brightness setting shows up (so the key works. I can set brightness to any level with echo 1 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness echo 2 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness ... echo 10 >/sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness and the display responds properly and I can read out the value with cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness but changing it with keys only goes from 10 to 9 or 10 to 6. This used to work in older versions of Ubuntu.
