This bug affects me too. However I don't think it is related to the kernel. Reason for me to say this: One of my machines had some strange problems during the upgrade from 14.04 to 14.10. The result was, that I was still on kernel 3.13 after the upgrade. When this problem with the crypto prompt happened, I first thought, it was because of this not-updated kernel. After updating to 3.16, it still happened though. But this shows, that the bug occured even with a kernel that previously worked fine.
It did NOT happen on 14.04 (on the same maschine). And it also happened after a fresh install of 14.10 (just to make sure it wasn't any other upgrade side-effect). So I'm pretty sure it's not related to the kernel version but to some change in some userspace tool/script. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385784 Title: 14.10 Keyboard does not work to log in at master crypt login Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: buntu 14.10 Keyboard does not work to log in at master crypt login, requires a reboot, which I can log in with recovery mode through the cmd line prompt.
