Yesterday I too upgraded to Utopic (so now at 3.16.0-24) from Ubuntu Gnome 14.04. And for the first time, my L440 could scan and connect to wifi networks. Though connection was successful in the first try, but there was no data transfer, I could not ping any IP address. 'ifconfig' did show the correct IP address assigned to wlan0. Let me know how can I help with debugging this. Thanks.
