@tobiasBora: DKMS builds kernel module for a particular kernel version. So if you upgrade your kernel version it wont support that module and you will have to build it again. DKMS basically duplicate tree, , outside of the kernel source, that holds the source and compiled binaries for a particular module.
So if you have built a kernel module with a `$ make`command, thats probably the best way.
