Bug description:
External USB3 drive (Seagate GoFlex) connected to a USB3 port fails to
mount on OS. Same unit works on USB2 ports (at USB2 speeds).
I expect my external USB3 drive to be recognized by the OS and able to
operate at USB3 speeds.
Mint 17 64-bit Cinammon (Ubuntu 14.04). Necessary details below or
attached.

I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard.
UEFI/BIOS set to enable legacy USB support and both XHCI and EHCI
handoff to OS (disabling these has no effect).
