Title:
Wifi led won't toggle when enabling/disabling wifi on ASUS laptop with
14.04
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
This is a common problem dating back to the 2008:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/450750/asus-wifi-led-not-working
There is a workaround for this, by creating additional files in
etc/acpi and handling event by command:
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/asus_laptop/wlan
But in 14.04 I get access denied when trying to write to this file.
This worked in 13.04 and 13.10 and in 14.04 is broken.
Ideally, is there a chance to include this solution in Ubuntu:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1460790&p=9162799#post9162799
Less ideally - is there a way to get writing to
/sys/devices/platform/asus_laptop/wlan fixed?
