Seems to be working ok. Most likely the increase in temperature is due to an increase in ambient temperature or for some other reason.
Or it could be that some updates I installed this evening have fixed it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1321433 Title: Laptop suddenly runs much hotter but low CPU usage Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: In the last couple of days I've suddenly noticed that my laptop runs hotter and the fan runs louder constantly than it used to. I have no idea what's changed, my best guess it's caused by a recent kernel, driver or other update. It doesn't seem to be any particular process hogging the CPU as htop shows CPU usage of around 10%, yet the issue persists. The laptop base feels hotter than usual as well. I have no idea where to even start looking to diagnose this.
