Problem description: Ubuntu remembers what kind of volume setting and mute state I have when headphones are plugged in or not. The mute LED correctly changes on/off when the mute button is pressed. However the mute LED of the laptop is not updated to follow the actual remembered setting when headphones are plugged or unplugged. If the mute preference of the state of headphones being plugged in differs from the state of them being unplugged, this will lead to inverted behavior of the mute LED.
