When trying to boot into recovery mode with the new kernel it gets stuck at `Loading initial ramdisk...`. After discussing with ChatGPT I also tried the following kernel parameters "intel_iommu=on iommu=pt i915.force_probe=bdw irqpoll initcall_debug ignore_loglevel no_console_suspend debug log_buf=10M efi=debug earlyprintk=vga, keep nomodeset", but they also failed. I was able to boot fine with linux-image-6.11.0-28-generic. Booting into the Ubuntu 25.04 LiveUSB also failed on this machine (but works fine on my HP laptop which upgraded successfully). After discussing with ChatGPT I tried booting the new kernel with kexec, and this got me to gdm3 login, but didn't load input device drivers. Not sure how to progress this further as I haven't been able to get any useful error logs from a failed boot of the kernel from grub. Not sure if its a kernel configuration problem with the new kernel, or a kernel bug. I guess a next step could be trying with an intermediate version of the kernel and try and discover which version of the kernel introduced this problem. But I don't have time for this right now. There is one other iMac14,4 on the linux hardware database that has successfully booted a 6.11+ kernel here: `https://linux- hardware.org/?probe=0d1404551f`. It is using v6.12.9-desktop-1omv2490 from OpenMandriva 25.01.
