Thanks again for submitting a bug. I've moved this to the appropriate team, who will look into it.
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: Benjamin Wheeler (benjaminwheeler) => Canonical Kernel Team (canonical-kernel-team) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2099748 Title: kworker/u32:2+events_unbound kernel thread making computer unusable until reboot Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: When viewing videos sometimes the kernel thread kworker/u32:2+events_unbound starts to consume 100% CPU while the screen response (including mouse) drops to less than 1 image per second. I managed to crash the kernel and capture the core image of that crash while the kernel was in this state (see debugging the kernel crashes) but I am not sure what to do next to investigate this problem. I think it should be possible to interrogate that dump somehow to see what exactly was the kernel thread doing but I don't know how.
