Interestingly opening the tty still worked (the second time it happened I pressed ctrl+f1 immediately after I noticed the freeze) but as soon as I interacted with the desktop environment (e.g. through a (normal) key press) the system froze completely. After a hard restart the same thing happened again after waking from sleep mode. I couldn't reproduce it the following days. From the logs (see attachments), I would extract that the problem is already at the time of entering sleep mode. Anyway would be very happy if you could look into this BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference.
