Title:
Problem with NVIDIA driver installation: Kernel headers are not
  installed automatically

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have encountered an issue while installing the NVIDIA driver on
Ubuntu. When I install the nvidia-driver-570 package via Software &
Updates or via apt install, Ubuntu reports that the driver is
installed correctly. However, when I attempt to build the modules with
DKMS, I get the following error:

Error! Your kernel headers for kernel 6.11.0-17-generic cannot be found at
/lib/modules/6.11.0-17-generic/build or /lib/modules/6.11.0-17-generic/source.
Please install the linux-headers-6.11.0-17-generic package or use the
--kernelsourcedir option to tell DKMS where it's located.

Even though the NVIDIA driver seems to be installed correctly, the
kernel headers for the current kernel are missing, which prevents the
module from being compiled. This behavior should not occur, as the
kernel headers should be installed automatically when a new kernel is
  installed.

  Expected Behavior:

When a new kernel is installed, the corresponding kernel headers
should automatically be installed, allowing the NVIDIA driver to be
  compiled and loaded without errors.

  Steps to Reproduce:

Install the NVIDIA driver via sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-570.
  Reboot the system.
Attempt to build the NVIDIA driver module via sudo dkms build -m nvidia -v
570.86.16.
Encounter the error indicating missing kernel headers.

  Observed Result:

The kernel headers are not automatically installed along with the
driver, and the compilation fails with the error message.

  Expected Result:

The kernel headers should be automatically installed, and the
  compilation should succeed without issues.
