Hi, Tim: Yes, I can confirm that the hid_magicmouse driver in the 6.12.0-15-generic kernel in plucky successfully attaches to the USB-C Magic Trackpad and all the gestures work normally. But, I am specifically asking for this support to be backported to a kernel available in 24.04 LTS, because I need to run 24.04 LTS.

This is the only version of the Magic Trackpad that can be purchased from Apple any more. They no longer sell the Lightning version. Support was added in upstream commit "HID: magicmouse: Apple Magic Trackpad 2 USB-C driver support" (https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/87a2f10395c82c2b4687bb8611a6c5663a12f9e7). Can you please backport this commit to the Ubuntu kernel? Without this commit the trackpad cannot scroll or do other gestures, right click or middle click, tapping does not work, etc. All it can do is move the mouse cursor and left click. The Debian 6.1 and 6.12 kernels have this commit and the device works fine on those kernels. Thanks!
