That is subtly the same problem. Some/most machines will default to the native screen resolution even with software rendering, so you may not notice the problem in that case. But the common issue is that it's still software rendering and missing the Intel driver.
I'll need to check 10th and 11th gen Intel machines to see if that's the common factor. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2097600 Title: i915 not loaded in live session with kernel 6.12 on Intel Rocket Lake Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Testing ISO dated Feb 7 Live session starts with wrong resolution 1024x768 instead 1920x1080 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 25.04 Package: gnome-shell 47.0-2ubuntu3.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.12.0-12.12-generic 6.12.4 Uname: Linux 6.12.0-12-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: overlay isofs nls_iso8859_1 jfs nls_ucs2_utils xfs reiserfs raid10 raid456 async_raid6_recov async_memcpy async_pq async_xor async_tx xor raid6_pq libcrc32c raid1 raid0 hid_generic usbhid hid crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul polyval_clmulni polyval_generic r8169 ghash_clmulni_intel nvme sha256_ssse3 sha1_ssse3 nvme_core ahci realtek libahci nvme_auth video wmi pinctrl_tigerlake aesni_intel crypto_simd cryptd ApportVersion: 2.31.0-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CasperVersion: 1.502 CloudArchitecture: x86_64 CloudID: nocloud CloudName: unknown CloudPlatform: nocloud CloudSubPlatform: seed-dir (/var/lib/cloud/seed/nocloud) CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Feb 7 09:27:30 2025 DisplayManager: gdm3 LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 25.04 "Plucky Puffin" - Daily amd64 (20250107) ProcEnviron: LANG=C.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=xterm-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 47.0-1ubuntu7 SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2097600/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
