I found a work around that enables the use of 6.8+ kernel on X570S AORUS ELITE AX motherboards. Details at this link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2065838 Summary: Save the following to this file: /etc/systemd/system/gigabyte-x570-fix.service [Unit] Description=Gigabyte X570 Platform Sensor Fix [Service] ExecStart=/bin/sh -c 'echo disabled > /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone1/mode' [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Then run: sudo systemctl enable --now gigabyte-x570-fix.service From what I surmise, something changed in 6.8 that fails to initialize Gigabyte X570 sensors on system resume causing erroneous overheating triggers. I will be happy to perform more tests in needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2065838 Title: System crash on resume from sleep Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Operating System: Ubuntu 12 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0 Qt Version: 5.15.13 Kernel Version: 6.8.0-31-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
