I can confirm it affects me also, I recently updated to 6.8.0.51. When the prompt initially appears I get a "gb" keyboard icon (I have a UK keyboard), after the screen goes blank and the prompt re-appears, it no longer has the "gb". I have a Dell Inspiron 13 7348 laptop. Going back to 6.8.0.49 fixes the issue.

System boots to LUKS password prompt and I get 2 seconds or so to type before the screen blanks for 2 seconds. When it returns I am unable to type. Using Grub Advanced I can force the boot to 6.8.0-49 and everything works fine as before. Alternatively I can use Grub Advanced to edit the 6.8.0-50 command line and remove quiet and splash to do a text boot. In that mode I still get the flash behavior; however, I am able to continue typing after the flash. I found several Mint related posts complaining about the same kernel with the same issue. I habe the same problem on Ubuntu 24.04 since kernel 6.8.0-50 and Ubuntu 24.10 after migration. My system is an AMD 5950X with and AMD Radeon™ RX 7700 XT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2091932/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
