Hard poweroff was the only thing that worked. Same problem in recovery mode at the text prompt for the crypt password. saw the same behavior after multiple reboots with both 6.5.0-10 and 6.5.0-9 kernels. Eventually was able to boot successfully by waiting a while before typing the password, and typing it very slowly. no idea what triggered the succesful password entry though, or how to even debug the system when its in this state ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 23.10 Package: linux-image-6.5.0-10-generic 6.5.0-10.10 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.5.0-10.10-generic 6.5.3 Uname: Linux 6.5.0-10-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.27.0-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: jbarnett 5022 F.... wireplumber /dev/snd/seq: jbarnett 5015 F.... pipewire CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Mon Oct 30 20:16:01 2023 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-08-17 (1536 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Alpha amd64 (20190305.1) Lsusb: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0489:e0a2 Foxconn / Hon Hai Bus 001 Device 004: ID 27c6:5395 Shenzhen Goodix Technology Co.,Ltd.
