Title:
  Ubuntu Core Kernel Panics on Intel NUC: BUG: unable to handle page
  fault for address

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I'm experiencing regular kernel panics/page faults on an Intel NUC 11
  which cause the whole system to freeze. I first experienced the issue
  on Ubuntu Core 22, but it also reproduces on Ubuntu Core 24 and Ubuntu
  Server 24.04 with the 6.8.0-50-generic kernel. I am currently paying
  for snap consulting from Canonical but was advised to file a bug
  report here for further support. The hardware is intended as
  production hardware for a commercial IoT gateway product so needs to
  be very stable.

  I've seen lots of different error messages when the system crashes
  which are difficult to capture because I lose access to the terminal,
  but most seem to relate to a kernel panic or a page fault that can't
  be handled, e.g.

  BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffffffc121f1c0
  #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode
  #PF: error_code(0x0009) - reserved bit violation

  I've also noticed the system runs very hot.

  I have not been able to reproduce these issues on the CMCR1ABA i7
  (same hardware but Intel Core i7 compute module rather than Intel Core
  i3).

  I have carried out a memory test using memtest and there were no
  errors detected after 12 passes.
