This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-gcp-tcpx/6.8.0-1002.3
kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and
update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the
tag 'verification-needed-jammy-linux-gcp-tcpx' to 'verification-done-
jammy-linux-gcp-tcpx'. If the problem still exists, change the tag
'verification-needed-jammy-linux-gcp-tcpx' to 'verification-failed-
jammy-linux-gcp-tcpx'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Title:
  linux-gcp: mlx5_ib needed in the linux-modules package

Status in linux-gcp package in Ubuntu:

Status in linux-gcp source package in Noble:
  Fix Released
Status in linux-gcp source package in Oracular:

Bug description:
  SRU Justification

  [Impact]

Google requested the mlx5_ib driver be moved to the linux-modules
package from the linux-modules-extra package, so that it is included
by default in some of their images where the hardware support is
  needed.

This change is relevant for noble:linux-gcp, oracular:linux-gcp, and
  jammy:linux-gcp-6.8

  [Fix]

  Add drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.ko to
  debian.gcp(-6.8)/control.d/gcp.inclusion-list.

  [Test Plan]

List files in the linux-modules package and verify that mlx5_ib.ko is
  there.

  [Regression potential]

The regression potential is very low since we are provably moving a
  module to its original package.
