Public bug reported:

After a period of time, it seems utterly random but can be provoked by
seeking forward/backward in videos (e.g. Youtube, VLC media player ...),
all audio will sound metallic and corrupted.

The quick "solution" is to restart pipewire (`systemctl --user restart
pipewire`), but this comes at the expense of my microphone no longer
working in active applications (e.g. Chrome) until I restart them.

I had experienced this bug before with mainline kernels for Ubuntu
24.04. I then put it down to those kernels not being optimised for
Ubuntu, and reverted to the official 6.8 kernel.

However, since upgrading to Ubuntu 24.10 which ships with the 6.11
kernel, the issue has returned, so I believe I can single out the kernel
as the culprit.

System:
- Meteor Lake chipset with integrated audio

Symptom:
- "Metallic" or "robotic" sound, across all applications, with no discernable
cause

Ways to reproduce:
- There may be many hours between occurrences
- It seems to occur more frequently when seeking in video
- It *seems* to occur more frequently on battery and power saving mode
