Going over advises found in @juergh links I messed around with
blacklisting in `/etc/modprobe.d/` and noticed that it has a file named
`broadcom-sta-dkms.conf`. I checked and I don't have `broadcom-sta-dkms`
installed. In fact, I don't have `dkms` installed. Yet those packages
are available. So I installed them:

{{{
sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms broadcom-sta-source
}}}

I added `broadcom-sta-source` for good measure. And it started to work
after rebooting.

Just in case the full disclosure: before that following links I
installed proprietary Broadcom drivers:

{{{
sudo apt install firmware-b43-installer
}}}

I don't know if it made any difference. In any case if installing just
`broadcom-sta-dkms` doesn't work for you, try downloading drivers (done
by `firmware-b43-installer`).

To sum it up, it looks like while on Ubuntu 24.04 I had those packages
installed, but 24.10 removed them for no apparent reasons without any
kind of replacement. I don't think it has anything to do with licensing
because the packages are still available in the main repository. It is
likely an installer bug, which should be fixed.

PS: Obviously, to install anything user will need an alternative means
to access internet: ethernet, ethernet-to-USB adapter, WiFi USB adapter,
and so on.
