Just tapping the Super key I can see animations stuttering. In 'NVIDIA Settings' it looks like the reason might be a lack of power profiles ("Performance Levels"). Those are only reported correctly if I log into Xorg. And indeed performance in Xorg sessions is much higher, more like what I would expect. P.S. Performance on this machine is much worse in upstream GNOME without triple buffering. So triple buffering is doing its job.
