Hi Kelvin, thank you for taking the time to report this issue. There is a lot of information missing that would greatly aid in the investigation of this issue, and trying to resolve it.
Can you please run "apport-collect 2077061" to collect and include more logs, and system info? You can re-open the ticket once that is included and I will pick up the investigation. Also, what is the behaviour that you are expecting? It isn't clear to me. The server does not have a CXL device attached, and it fails to load CXL support. There are other messages in the log about ACPI is not supporting/detecting some CXL features. Do you expect the cxl code not to try to initialize, or do you expect it to succeed without any warnings? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Philip Cox (philcox) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077061 Title: Ubuntu 24.04 showed CXL related complaining messages when CXL capable root port did not attach CXL device Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Ubuntu 24.04 showed CXL related complaining messages (when CXL root port did not attach CXL device) such as below messages (refer to attached dmesg file): Couldn't locate the CXL.cache and CXL.mem capability array header.
