What happened instead: When booting using the specified kernel, the integrated screen displays a corrupted image. A photo of the corruption has been attached. The photo of the corruption is of the laptop running a different distro (Fedora) but the behavior is identical and is common across many distros. This display corruption occurs only on the laptop's integrated display. No corruption is present on external displays. This display corruption was not present when using linux-image-6.6.0-14-generic.
