Public bug reported: 6.2.0-39.40~22.04.1 includes upstream stable patchset 2023-10-10 (https://launchpad.net/bugs/2038969) with the TPM changes 'Disable RNG for all AMD fTPMs' and 'Add a helper for checking hwrng enabled'.
This causes on some Intel devices that TPM does not work (in my case a Gigabyte Brix GB-BSi5-1135G7) with the error " tpm_crb: probe of MSFT0101:00 failed with error 378 " Upstream discussed this issue in https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217804 and a fix was found: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/8f7f35e5aa6f2182eabcfa3abef4d898a48e9aa8 Full disclosure: I report this issue based only on above links. I did not try to run my affected device with a patched kernel and switched for the time being back to the HWE kernel 6.2.0-37. But the deswcription of the issue is a very good fit to the behaviour I see with the Gigabyte PC.
