I'm not really sure what a lot of this means and I have a lot to learn. From
what I've gathered the kernel is like the middle man between my OS and computer
hardware.
I read all of the info on the wiki.ubuntu link you provide, then downloaded the
most recent upstream kernel. Installed it with Gdebi package installer and
then rebooted.
The keyboard functioned without having to click icons on the top of the screen.
One thing I did notice after the kernel install was this on boot,
[ 2.855373] usb 1-1.4: string descriptor 0 read error: -22
[ 11.055901] usb 1-1.4: string descriptor 0 read error: -22
Other than that, everything on my system seems to be working ok after 5 or 6
boots.
You mentioned booting back into the latest Ubuntu kernel. I'm not sure what
this means.
I'm constantly updating the computer with trusyt-security, updates, and
backports.
By the way I appreciate your help and hope I can learn enough to help others in
the future.
Thanks again.
