I'm probably also affected by this bug. I am facing the issue of bluetoothctl is not being able to discover any devices. This started like one week ago and before that I was using my bluetooth headsets every day for work.
What have I tried? - restarting bluetooth service via systemctl - uninstalling bluez - installing / uninstalling blueman - installing bluez via snap Nothing worked. My Asus is: "ASUS Vivobook Pro 14X OLED N7400PC-KM135X" and running Ubuntu 20.04.6 When doing "dmesg | grep -i blue; lsusb; lsb_release -a; uname -a; hwinfo --short;" I receive this output #################### #################### [ 46.026260] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.22 [ 46.026730] NET: Registered PF_BLUETOOTH protocol family [ 46.026732] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized [ 46.026737] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized [ 46.026740] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized [ 46.026745] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized [ 46.232033] Bluetooth: hci0: Device setup in 155376 usecs [ 48.303549] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3 [ 48.303552] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast [ 48.303556] Bluetooth: BNEP socket layer initialized [ 48.485111] Bluetooth: hci0: Device setup in 141637 usecs [ 84.598016] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized [ 84.598022] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized [ 84.598027] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.11 [ 424.383537] Bluetooth: hci0: Device setup in 135394 usecs [ 555.591098] Bluetooth: hci0: Device setup in 133687 usecs [ 952.298481] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469677.974:62): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap-update-ns.bluez" pid=10027 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.355920] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.034:63): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.btmon" pid=10032 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.364327] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.042:64): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.btmgmt" pid=10031 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.364466] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.042:65): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.bluez" pid=10029 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.366687] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.042:66): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.btattach" pid=10030 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.383171] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.058:67): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.bluetoothctl" pid=10028 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.391012] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.066:68): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.hciconfig" pid=10034 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.392262] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.070:69): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.hciattach" pid=10033 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.392542] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.070:70): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.hcidump" pid=10036 comm="apparmor_parser" [ 952.430170] audit: type=1400 audit(1679469678.106:71): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" profile="unconfined" name="snap.bluez.hook.configure" pid=10038 comm="apparmor_parser" Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub Bus 003 Device 009: ID 04f3:0c6e Elan Microelectronics Corp.
