You have been subscribed to a public bug: Since a fresh install of Xubuntu 22.04 sometimes X launches to a white screen, other times I get a black screen. Restarting X seems to help sometimes. I turned display power management off and the problem persists. The system is responsive and usually I can still get to the text console.
