The relevant part here is that the unit file just starts up a shell script that checks if my YubiKey is plugged in, and if it isn't it exits. I don't keep my YubiKey plugged in when the laptop is closed and idle — and it certainly wasn't plugged in when I observed it staying up for hours despite being closed and idle before filing this ticket — so I doubt this is relevant. Also, if it WERE relevant, the problem wouldn't be intermittent. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1991598 Title: laptop not reliably going to sleep when lid closed on battery power Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I have the shell configured to lock the screen when I close the lid and go to sleep after 20 idle minutes on battery power. Immediately before I opened my laptop and unlocked it to submit this bug, the laptop was unplugged from battery power and sitting with the lid closed for hours and never went to sleep. When I opened the lid I found it locked as it should have been, so that's apparently not the issue. The issue is that it just never went to sleep even though it was idle for hours. This is a regression from Jammy.
