Should have added this for my #12 comment. Still never got this to work. I have two identical Lenovo Z570 laptops and the same issue exists on both. I can see the camera operate in cheese, however you need to be in a really bright light source to see ANYTHING. Even tried a few tools to blow out the brightness and contrast, but still not much better than mediocre.
Here is the information on my machine: dmesg | grep Lenovo [ 1.592905] usb 1-1.5: Product: Lenovo EasyCamera [ 22.925687] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Lenovo EasyCamera (5986:0292) [ 22.927540] input: Lenovo EasyCamera as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.5/1-1.5:1.0/input/input7 dmesg | grep uvc [ 22.925687] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device Lenovo EasyCamera (5986:0292) [ 22.927776] usbcore: registered new interface driver uvcvideo Any update on this would be great, thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1125324 Title: Lenovo EasyCamera not working Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: The Lenovo EasyCamera is detected in Ubuntu 12.10, 64bits but does not work.
