Title:
  i915 black screen on resume

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  This has been a cross-distro problem, not just Mate 18.04

  MacBook Air 1,1 Mate 18.04
  Intel graphics. 64-bit install. 

  No backlight after resume. Machine appears fully functional, except no
  screen backlight. You can often see faint traces of the windows
  responding.

  apport is enabled.

  Let me know what to run to get you good debug info.
