* jammy/linux: 5.15.0-17.17 -proposed tracker (LP: #1957809) -- Andrea Righi <andrea.ri...@canonical.com> Thu, 13 Jan 2022 17:11:21 +0100 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956780 Title: 5.15 stuck at boot on c4.large Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: [Impact] c4.large instances are stuck at boot with kernel 5.15.0-15.15. [Test case] Simply deploy a c4.large instance and install the latest jammy kernel (5.15.0-15.15). [Fix] It looks like the offending commit is the following: 02c70033b98b ("PCI/MSI: Mask MSI-X vectors only on success") Reverting the commit fixes the problem. [Regression potential] It looks like the commit was fixing a potential breakage with broken Marvell NVME devices, so we may see crashes in presence of these devices. However, reverting the commit we are simply restoring the previous behavior, so potential regressions should be limited to these broken devices.
