Both are running MSI X570 motherboards and MSI 1080 GTX graphics cards. Both machines are running Kubuntu 21.04. The issues become evident on a clean install system. Issues on the 5800X but not on the 3700X: 1/ All 400 series Nvidia drivers cause malfunctions on the KDE destop (reported to Nvidia https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/465-drivers-cause-kde-desktop-to-malfunction/183291) 2/ Very long connection times to websites - 1 minute or more (has a random element to it) 3/ Persistent failure of the KIOclient 4/ Precludes wine from seeing some .exe and .msi files (again seems random) 5/ socket related errors in most (all) applications 6/ All desktop quick launch icons do not work with the Nvidia drivers 7/ Numerous icons are presented as question marks. 8/ Numerous attempts to upload apport information not possible with returns such as: scott@scottubuntu:~$ ubuntu-bug Icon theme "Numix-Circle" not found. 1521 /usr/share/apport/apport-kde:129: DeprecationWarning: an integer is required (got type float).
