I am not sure what has happened with my Ideapad 5-14ARE05 laptop, but it just seems that this problem has disappeared. I assume some update fixed it finally.
I running 5.11.0-34-generic #36~20.04.1-Ubuntu I have many other problems with the machine such as it does not suspend when the lid is closed and behaves strangely with my bluetooth headset.
