@everyone, the "Loading patch file failed" error is definitely caused by ath3k incompatibility with USB 3.0. The ath3k driver fails to work approximately 2/3 of the time if btusb is connected to a pin which uses the xhci driver. I compiled a dkms kernel package, with the very extensive help of AceLan Kao, which switches the usb pin of the bt device to ehci. Now ath3k and my bluetooth works like a charm 100% of the time. However this is just a workaround, I will report this issue upstream but it looks like the devs are not really interested in fixing this, because it already got reported before.
@Christopher, could you cherry pick the device id patch for my bluetooth card and backport it to saucy and trust? It is upstream since 3.14-rc1 [0][1] and I don't want to be forced to use the Ubuntu mainline kernel all the time.
