touch pad of my laptop is not working

Bug description:
since few days, my laptop was getting freezed in between and at that
time the touch pad did not work properly. I was unable to move the
cursor on the screen and even the tap did not work. I had to reboot my
laptop to resolve this but today, when I started my laptop,the
touchpad is not at all working and even the reboot is not able to
resolve this issue. keyboard is working perfectly fine but trackpad
isn't. ALl the processes are working fine, the system is not frozen
just the trackpad. I did not even disable my touch pad through(Fn +
F2)
