External mouse works even then. After one or two reboots the touchpad starts working, and it works until the next boot, when it may not work again. This seems very similar to this Lenovo Yoga S940 touchpad problem: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=252711 Attached (i2c_error.txt) is the output of "dmesg |grep i2c" on a boot when the touchpad did not work. The main error message seems to be "i2c_designware i2c_designware.1: controller timed out". The name of the touchpad is "MSFT0001:01 06CB:CDB0 Touchpad" (from cat /proc/bus/input/devices) This bug report has been created on a boot where the touchpad does work. FYI, on Windows, the touchpad has always worked without problems.
