I have noticed this issue with several kernals and I know it is a strange pc set up, due to using laptop ddr2 and a laptop cpu, together with the graphics card which is a slimmed down gt 220 having 8 rops and 24 shaders, instead of the more usual 48 shaders, it was built to keep electricity costs down as I spend a lot of time on my pc, it is basically a back up pc built during lock down, for those reasons, It was also, very cheap and uses laptop hard disks as well. I have been unable to pinpoint the exact source of the memory leak, which, is never the less present as the two kernals, below, do not display the same problems. 4.15.0-45 works fine on it, without issues, as does 4.13.0-32. For anyone else, who may encounter this issue. --- ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.25 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: my 1500 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: my 1500 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: X-Cinnamon DistroRelease: Linux 18.3 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=2fdb0057-68a1-4ad7-9b01-c3dfe6522832 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-08-22 (57 days ago) InstallationMedia: Linux Mint 18.3 "Sylvia" - Release amd64 20171124 MachineType: RM plc RM ECOQUIET 965 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia Package: linux (not installed) ProcFB: ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.15.0-107-generic root=UUID=42a38bf9-a162-4301-b15c-6e12c8de42ec ro quiet splash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-107.108~16.04.1-generic 4.15.18 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-4.15.0-107-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-4.15.0-107-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.157.23 RfKill: StagingDrivers: r8188eu Tags: sylvia staging Uname: Linux 4.15.0-107-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True dmi.bios.date: 04/17/2008 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 0111 dmi.board.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.board.name: IMISR-VM dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK Computer INC. dmi.board.version: Rev 1.xx dmi.chassis.asset.tag: WO52872602 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: RM plc dmi.chassis.version: RM ONE AC97 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr0111:bd04/17/2008:svnRMplc:pnRMECOQUIET965:pvr1.0:rvnASUSTeKComputerINC.:rnIMISR-VM:rvrRev1.xx:cvnRMplc:ct3:cvrRMONEAC97: dmi.product.family: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.product.name: RM ECOQUIET 965 dmi.product.version: 1.0 dmi.sys.vendor: RM plc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1900395/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
