Public bug reported: Hi Everyone,
I'm working on Ubuntu 18.04, x86_64, fully patched. The kernel is 5.4.0-48-generic. Dmesg shows a few messages for a Sonix Technology USB Camera. The camera is somewhat popular on Amazon. The camera is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086WVDKH7. Here are the dmesg messages: $ dmesg | grep 'cannot get freq' [ 4.361835] usb 2-7.4.2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84 [ 6.225996] usb 2-7.4.2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84 [ 6.276147] usb 2-7.4.2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84 And here is the info on the webcam: $ dmesg | grep 'usb 2-7.4.2' [ 3.112262] usb 2-7.4.2: new high-speed USB device number 7 using xhci_hcd [ 3.257399] usb 2-7.4.2: New USB device found, idVendor=0c45, idProduct=6366, bcdDevice= 1.00 [ 3.257401] usb 2-7.4.2: New USB device strings: Mfr=2, Product=1, SerialNumber=3 [ 3.257402] usb 2-7.4.2: Product: USB Live camera [ 3.257403] usb 2-7.4.2: Manufacturer: Sonix Technology Co., Ltd. I wanted to ise "linux-5.4" or similar. The problem users like me have is, package search sucks on this webpage. I cannot enter 'linux-5.4', 'linux "5.4"' or other similar search terms and get a result. Nearly all search results in 0 results. Then, searching for 'linux' results in 50 pages of results. Sigh... ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1898214 Title: Sonix Technology USB camera and "cannot get freq at ep 0x84" Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi Everyone, I'm working on Ubuntu 18.04, x86_64, fully patched.
