Public bug reported:
SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: v5.8.9 upstream stable release from git://git.kernel.org/ Linux 5.8.9 mptcp: free acked data before waiting for more memory net: disable netpoll on fresh napis tipc: fix using smp_processor_id() in preemptible tipc: fix shutdown() of connectionless socket taprio: Fix using wrong queues in gate mask sctp: not disable bh in the whole sctp_get_port_local() net: usb: dm9601: Add USB ID of Keenetic Plus DSL netlabel: fix problems with mapping removal ipv6: Fix sysctl max for fib_multipath_hash_policy ipv4: Silence suspicious RCU usage warning RDMA/cma: Execute rdma_cm destruction from a handler properly RDMA/cma: Remove unneeded locking for req paths RDMA/cma: Using the standard locking pattern when delivering the removal event RDMA/cma: Simplify DEVICE_REMOVAL for internal_id io_uring: fix linked deferred ->files cancellation io_uring: fix cancel of deferred reqs with ->files ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Groovy) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1895634 Title: Groovy update: v5.8.9 upstream stable release Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux source package in Groovy: Confirmed Bug description: SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch.
