apport information ** Description changed:
When booting my Lenovo E490 with the Lenovo Powered USB-C Travel Hub (a kind of dock) already attached, the machine crashes after entering password into the graphical login interface. More precisely the login does not complete (in a reasonable time frame) and I cannot switch to another virtual terminal. Some menus can be selected, but there is no action (e.g. reboot) and I have to do a hard shutdown (pressing the power button for 4 sec.). The log files show a kernel oops. When attaching the dock after login the system seems to work normally. I do have the latest displaylink drivers installed (www.displaylink.com). Attached is a log file snippet. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.4 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-03-25 (483 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20190210) Package: mutter 3.36.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-40.44-generic 5.4.44 Tags: focal Uname: Linux 5.4.0-40-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev remote sambashare sudo wireshark _MarkForUpload: True + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.4 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC2: leo 1928 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC1: leo 1928 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: leo 1928 F.... pulseaudio + CasperMD5CheckResult: skip + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-03-25 (484 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20190210) + MachineType: LENOVO 20N8CTO1WW + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm-256color + PATH=(custom, no user) + XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> + LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcFB: 0 i915drmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/@focal/boot/vmlinuz-5.4.0-40-generic root=UUID=cbee37f5-8d6e-4d54-a71d-cd0f24de1427 ro rootflags=subvol=@focal quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-40.44-generic 5.4.44 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-5.4.0-40-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-5.4.0-40-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.187.1 + Tags: focal + Uname: Linux 5.4.0-40-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev remote sambashare sudo wireshark + _MarkForUpload: True + dmi.bios.date: 06/15/2020 + dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.bios.version: R0YET44P (1.27 ) + dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available + dmi.board.name: 20N8CTO1WW + dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.board.version: SDK0J40709 WIN + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO + dmi.chassis.version: None + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrR0YET44P(1.27):bd06/15/2020:svnLENOVO:pn20N8CTO1WW:pvrThinkPadE490:rvnLENOVO:rn20N8CTO1WW:rvrSDK0J40709WIN:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNone: + dmi.product.family: ThinkPad E490 + dmi.product.name: 20N8CTO1WW + dmi.product.sku: LENOVO_MT_20N8_BU_SMB_FM_ThinkPad E490 + dmi.product.version: ThinkPad E490 + dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Attachment added: "AlsaInfo.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887914/+attachment/5394859/+files/AlsaInfo.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887914 Title: Partial freeze if booting with USB-C dock attached Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: When booting my Lenovo E490 with the Lenovo Powered USB-C Travel Hub (a kind of dock) already attached, the machine crashes after entering password into the graphical login interface.
