  omapdrm driver sets wrong resolution on HDMI/DVI

Status in linux-meta-ti-omap4 package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  I tested with two different DVI monitors, connected to the Pandaboard ES HDMI 
connector using an HDMI-to-DVI cable.
  On my 1600x1200 monitor, the driver always switches to 1400x1050 resolution
  On my 1920x1080 monitor, the driver always switches to a resolution > 2000, 
and the monitor blanks shortly after

  However, <edid-decode
  /sys/devices/platform/omapdrm.0/drm/card0/card0-HDMI-A-1/edid> shows
  the correct information:
