The problem is present on Linux Mint with the kernel 5.4-rc8 The problem is present on Debian 10 with the kernel 4.19.0-6-amd64 but it's not present on MX Linux 19 (based on Debian 10) with kernel 4.19.0-6-amd64
I seriously wonder if it's not systemd that is problematic. MX Linux 19 run with systeminit not systemd, Debian 10 run with systemd not systeminit. I try to do tests with devuan to be a little more sure of my hypothesis, but I have problems with the unrecognized network card, unsupported sound card, etc... I can not find a version including firmwares ;( To talk about something else. I saw that Ubuntu 19 uses a lot of snap packets instead of .deb. It can be easier for maintainers to do so, but it slows down/lowers the pc performance, and this can create security problems if all packages of all snap images are not updated with the latest stable versions of softwares, which seems impossible to do with a system like snap, flatpak, etc. Best regrads. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1841485 Title: Unbearable whistling in headphones Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Unbearable whistling in headphones plugged into 3.5 mm audio jack port.
