Stenten, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Instructions for non-pae mini.iso installs may be found at https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/installation-guide/i386/hardware- supported.html . Would this help you address the issue?
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Undecided ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945053 Title: Precise non-pae mini.iso is missing b43 wireless module. Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: My Pentium M doesn't support PAE, so my only install option for Precise is the non-pae mini.iso. Unfortunately this network-based install media does not include the b43 wireless kernel module for Broadcom wireless cards (and I mean the file /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/b43/b43.ko which can be loaded via 'modprobe b43', not the proprietary firmware which must be installed via firmware-b43-installer package). This makes it impossible for me to get a wireless connection on the mini.iso, which is essential since the installation is over a network. Since the mini.iso is the only way to install Ubuntu Precise on a non- pae computer, this therefore makes it impossible for me to install Ubuntu onto my computer.
