Well , it happened to me again today. More than a year later but this time it didn't recover the nic gave out. To the OS however on IP level everything was hunky doori. I was able to issue ping commands over the interface , no replies of course.
anyway , here is the entry in the log. I had to reboot to make the interface work again. http://pastebin.com/Rebf5dwv Reagrds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986805 Title: WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-3.2.0/net/sched/sch_generic.c:255 dev_watchdog+0x25a/0x270() Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Since I upgraded ubuntu server , precise pangolin this morning to kernel .23 Atheros integrated nic on asus P5G41TM_LX crashes , then seems to recover afterwards. syslog cut of crash : http://pastebin.com/z20DrWN4 --- AlsaDevices: total 0 crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 1 Apr 22 11:24 seq crw-rw---T 1 root audio 116, 33 Apr 22 11:24 timer AplayDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 ArecordDevices: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/seq', '/dev/snd/timer'] failed with exit code 1: CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=3c20b0c7-da48-43f4-b043-ab0637a6ff2c InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Alpha amd64 (20120314) IwConfig: lo no wireless extensions. eth1 no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions.
