You have been subscribed to a public bug: On the regular Ubuntu desktop I use an .xprofile with xrandr commands that add the monitors native resolution as follows:
xrandr --newmode "3440x1440" 196.25 3440 3600 3952 4464 1440 1443 1453 1468 -hsync +vsync xrandr --addmode HDMI-1 "3440x1440" Unfortunately this doesn't work under wayland and I have not yet found a solution. I have tried several ideas including a custom edid bin file without success. I'm reporting against the gnome-control-center since this corresponds to the end user experience.
