Is it possible to remove a bug report, please? I very much do hope so. Reason: I had bought a new cable mini-DP to HDMI (deleyCon), and found it also not working when booting to W10. Just rushed out and bought another one, another brand, and it works.
My face is red (I ought to have thought of and swapped the cable!), and would appreciate a brown bag. I can only offer my excuses! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817944 Title: Kubuntu 18.04 does not display through mini-DP port on lenovo Helix 2 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: (This is probably related to bug 1816860, but with different hardware and a different appearance, so it is filed separately.) Using the levovo Helix 2 attached to its Pro keyboard, it is not possible to activate the monitor as attached. The monitor is attached with a mini-DP-to-HDMI cable to the monitor (SONY), and is - in this case, contrary to the bug mentioned before - detected as can be seen by xrandr. But then it gives up after some time (see attachment of System Settings started from CLI and Xorg.log: $ tail /var/log/Xorg.0.log [ 970.977] (II) modeset(0): Modeline "1920x1080"x0.0 138.12 1920 1968 2000 2052 1080 1083 1089 1122 +hsync -vsync (67.3 kHz eP) [ 973.083] (II) modeset(0): EDID vendor "LGD", prod id 1121 [ 973.083] (II) modeset(0): Printing DDC gathered Modelines: [ 973.083] (II) modeset(0): Modeline "1920x1080"x0.0 138.12 1920 1968 2000 2052 1080 1083 1089 1122 +hsync -vsync (67.3 kHz eP) [ 1009.658] (II) modeset(0): EDID vendor "LGD", prod id 1121 [ 1009.658] (II) modeset(0): Printing DDC gathered Modelines: [ 1009.658] (II) modeset(0): Modeline "1920x1080"x0.0 138.12 1920 1968 2000 2052 1080 1083 1089 1122 +hsync -vsync (67.3 kHz eP) [ 1099.146] (II) modeset(0): EDID vendor "LGD", prod id 1121 [ 1099.146] (II) modeset(0): Printing DDC gathered Modelines: [ 1099.146] (II) modeset(0): Modeline "1920x1080"x0.0 138.12 1920 1968 2000 2052 1080 1083 1089 1122 +hsync -vsync (67.3 kHz eP) (and so it continues). Connecting the tablet of the convertable itself with a micro-HDMI-to- HDMI to that same monitor works fine, however.
