Hello I would like to join to this issue, because I am also experiencing pulse sound problem since 4.4.0-128 kernel
4.4.0-128 + amd64-microcode:amd64 3.20180524.1 made my sound card disappeared at all I revert to previous amd64-microcode 2.20160316.1 and 4.4.0-127 and got my sound card and sound back Then I tried 4.4.0-130, 4.4.0-131 with amd64-microcode 2.20160316.1, the result is sound does exist, card does exist, but I can not change the volume via pavucontrol. It always the same level I use Xubuntu 16.04 Lenovo Thinkpad T480 Intel processor i7 I do not have any problem only with 4.4.0-127 + amd64-microcode 2.20160316.1 And do not have any ideas why amd64-microcode affects on my intel system Thank you -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1782125 Title: sound not working but driver all set Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: sound not working and some issue to rum kali linux packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: linux-image-4.4.0-131-generic 4.4.0-131.157 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-131.157-generic 4.4.134 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-131-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/by-path', '/dev/snd/hwC0D2', '/dev/snd/hwC0D0', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D8p', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D7p', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D3p', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D0c', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p', '/dev/snd/controlC0', '/dev/snd/seq', '/dev/snd/timer'] failed with exit code 1: CurrentDesktop: GNOME-Flashback:Unity Date: Tue Jul 17 16:52:55 2018 DistributionChannelDescriptor: # This is a distribution channel descriptor # For more information see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DistributionChannelDescriptor canonical-oem-somerville-xenial-amd64-20160624-2 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=f8021436-59da-47fb-a06e-75f56c298fd1 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-11-27 (232 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04 "Xenial" - Build amd64 LIVE Binary 20160624-10:47 MachineType: Dell Inc.
