Hi

I'm having similar symptons to the original issue after upgrading from
17.10 -> 18.04

Specifically:

I'm able to boot past GRUB and login.
Shortly after login the UI becomes unresponsive
Then the mouse freezes
Then completely dead.

My laptop is similar to the original post: Dell XPS 15
As this feels slightly in the realm of graphics, I'm ising the inbuilt Intel
graphics, not the nvidia GPU.

Similar to the original post, the fallback kernel works for me, though the
versions differ from the original.

Problem occurs on 4.15.0-20-generic
Using 4.13.0-39-generic seems to work.

Please let me know what other information I can provide to assist.

@Nicolas: How did you get past this?

Thx
